The treatment has three sessions. 1) We... read more were then invited to the sauna where we lied on our back and Marina helped us warm up by moving the steam in the sauna towards us. She then proceeded to exfoliate our skin with special gloves, and then rinsed us off. We then went outside and cooled down with cold water from a bucket. We rested for 15 minutes and proceeded. 2) in the sauna, warm up again on our backs; we were sprinkled with warm water, rubbed and tapped using tree branches with leave. Ice was used to cool us down. We left for another cold shower and 15 more minutes. We were encouraged to drink a lot of water to remain hydrated. 3) back in the sauna this time on our tummy. Same process as phase 2. The entire experience was very relaxing and quite special.
Note of caution, one goes to this spa for the treatments. This is not a Nordik like environment. There are two relatively small hot tubs (only one was working when we went). Access to the sauna is only when it is not in used for treatment.
Having said that, the location is lovely, the people were friendly and knowledgeable (they explained everything throughout the treatment), and the food at the restaurant was fantastic. The treatment itself was a unique experience and the price for everything was affordable.
